Drawing Step-1
1. Start your simple dog outline by sketching the dog’s head. Start with a slightly curved horizontal line to represent the top of the head.
Draw a large “U” shape from one end of the horizontal line and connect it to the opposite end of the line. This will complete the shape of the dog’s head.
Drawing Step-2
2. Begin drawing the details of the dog’s face. Draw small, slightly curved triangular shapes for the eyebrows. Draw a nearly straight line at the bottom to represent the eyes, then add a slightly curved line to represent the outer edges and tops.
Draw an incomplete oval to represent the pupil in each eye.
Drawing Step-3
3. Draw an upside-down triangle for the dog’s nose. Just below it, draw a wide and rounded “W” shape, which will represent the mouth. Draw a straight vertical line between the nose and the mouth to connect them together.
Drawing Step-4
4. Draw partial triangles on either side of the head to represent the dog’s ears. Keep in mind that the top of each triangle should be slightly rounded. Next, draw a long, slightly curved line below the head to represent the collar that covers the neck.
Drawing Step-5
5. Now outline the dog’s body. Use two long, outward-facing curved lines to represent the two sides of the body. Next, draw a short curved line in the middle of the chest to represent the bulge in the front.
Drawing Step-6
6. Draw two long, curved, parallel lines down from the body to form the legs. Curve one of these lines down into a slight spiral shape so that it comes back on itself to form the outer border of the paws. Then, add details to the fingers using short curved lines at the bottom of the paws.
Drawing Step-7
7. Now draw the other front leg of the sitting dog. For this, draw two long, curved and parallel lines downward from the body as before. Bend one of these lines into a slight spiral shape as it goes down so that it curves back to form the shape of a paw. Then, add short curved lines at the bottom of the paw to get a clear detail of the fingers.
Drawing Step-8
8. To create the hind leg of the sitting dog, first draw a large curved line to show the outline of the leg. Then, add another curved line next to it to show the paw. Use smaller curved lines to show the details of the claws. Next, draw a light curved line between the dog’s two front legs to show the bottom of the body.
Drawing Step-9
9. Now complete your easy dog outline by drawing the last remaining leg and the tail. As with the hind legs, draw a long curved line for the foot and add another curved line next to it to represent the paw. Use smaller curved lines to represent the toes. Next, draw a thick, gently curving line from the back of the body to form the shape of the tail – note that the tail may be slightly rounded and slightly raised.
